Project Manager

OVERVIEW

The Project Manager works closely with the Project Team including the Project Superintendent, Project Engineer and the Project Foreman directing and controlling the time, cost and quality of SDI’s construction projects.

 RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Build and develop a high-performance team through training, coaching and mentoring. Provide timely and consistent feedback

  • Define project scope

  • Estimate and establish budgets

  • Maintain timely and accurate reporting

  • Drive enforcement of safety protocols

  • Maintain quality

  • Daily management, supervision, coordination and successful completion of projects from original concept through completion

  • Meet time and cost objectives with respect to contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding and contract administrative functions

  • Communicate with direct subcontractors and field personnel who are involved in interpreting specifications, planning and executing work procedures, and coordinating various phases of construction

  • Inspect work in progress to ensure workmanship complies with specifications and meets schedule requirements

  • Regularly communicate with clients, vendors and team

  • Foster and nurture vendor relations while building new relationships

  • Identify client needs and exceed expectations to ensure customer

  • Support implementation and utilization of various SDI initiatives

  • Drive competencies to the team on requirements for insurance, labor relations and employee relations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of four years of construction experience, subcontractor experience

  • Minimum two years field construction management on commercial

  • Knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, purchasing and engineering principles and techniques as well as accounting

  • Drafting and computer

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, architectural and engineering plans, specifications scopes of work and project

  • Working knowledge of the building codes

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills proven leadership and interpersonal

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, estimating, scheduling, budget/cost control, on- screen take-offs and ability to learn relevant applications
