Description:
The North and South Halls represent the largest construction project in campus history and the first new residence halls built in more than 60 years. The multi-phase development delivers more than 300,000 square feet of modern student housing and dining space, replacing aging towers with two contemporary residence halls and a two-story dining facility. North Hall, a six-story, 183,000-square-foot building with approximately 410 beds and a new dining center, was delivered first, with South Hall — a five-story, 124,000-square-foot residence hall adding 540 beds — opening approximately six months later. Together, the buildings anchor a new residential hub that strengthens connections between living, learning, and campus life.
Designed in the University of Wyoming’s Collegiate Gothic sandstone style, the halls feature modern room types, semi-suite layouts, and student-focused amenities including individual climate controls, community kitchens, study lounges, and centralized services. The dining center seats up to 850 diners and offers nine food-concept stations, a visible bakery, and expanded meal-plan options. High-performance systems, durable finishes, and flexible social spaces elevate the student experience, establishing a new benchmark for residential life at the University of Wyoming.
