Description:

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon marks the Tejon Indian Tribe’s first gaming enterprise and one of Kern County’s largest privately funded developments. The resort destination features a150,000-square-foot gaming floor with more than 2,500 slot machines, over 50table games, multiple food and beverage venues, retail space, and extensive back-of-house and site improvements. Designed to deliver the bold energy and immersive atmosphere synonymous with the Hard Rock brand, the project combines high-end hospitality, entertainment, and gaming environments within a fast-paced, large-scale resort setting.

SDI played a significant role in shaping the project’s interior experience through complex framing and ceiling systems integrated throughout the gaming, dining, and public spaces. Nearly every soffit was radiused or geometrically unique, requiring exceptional layout precision and continuous field coordination across expansive interiors with dense MEP integration. The team utilized Total Station technology and prefabricated framing assemblies to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and quality, while more intricate architectural features were formed in place using PanelMax drywall profiling and GFRG assemblies. Despite ongoing design evolution and an aggressive construction schedule, SDI delivered highly detailed architectural systems that support acoustical performance, elevate the guest experience, and reinforce the project’s distinctive hospitality identity.
